Head Shave for Cancer Society

I decided to do this as a retirement celebration. While I had cut my hair on a previous occasion and donated it to the cancer society to make wigs, I had not shaved my head at that time. I set up a website at: http://convio.cancer.ca/goto/Wendy.Bolt and have received over $9,000 from online and other donations. I feel great about doing this. My cousin Cathy Oliffe wrote about it on her blog as well. I will have to figure out how to connect to her blog.... I am so a rookie at this blogging thing.......

A Day in the Life of a Couch

This morning Iwoke up lonely and cold. No one was with me for at least 12 hours. It gives me time to think though....think and remember. I remember when I was young....brand new actually. I got a lot of attention. As I got older I had the opportunity to live in many different places. I got to know many people....intimately at times. I also got to know some animals. Dogs and cats have spent time with me. I like them since they do not judge me or my colour. I think of all these things as I wait for the first warm contact of the day. It turns out to be a dog. He loves me. He is comfortable with me. The sunshine is warm as it comes though the window and shines on me. It is going to be a great day! I choose it to be a great day! Dakota's couch.

So far I have been unable to post anything although I did type something brilliant yesterday; complete with picture. My brain and my fingers are not connecting......I can figure out how to change the colour of my words, hate the word verifications they make us deal with. I'll try to post this now..... Dakota
